RareAirShoes.com Australian Exclusive The Air Jordan XVI was released in February 2001. Late that year the XVI+ was released in two colorways featuring a revamped upper. The patent leather was removed from the toe box for a cleaner look and most of the midfoot section was replaced with a highly breathable mesh. The Air Jordan XVI comes with its own unique feature, known as the "Jordan Shroud" which in essence is a removable lace cover. Since its release, a large number of pro players have had their own "personal" Jordan XVI makeup with their name and number embroidered into the shoe. For cushioning the Air Jordan XVI relies on a combination of Visible Air in the heel and Zoom Air in the forefoot. Stability is enhanced by the carbon fiber shank plate, visible through the translucent rubber soles. This colorway features ginger nubuck and found favor with a number of high profile NBL and Australian Boomers players who wore it during 2001 and 2002. A great colorway for chillin'. Something different, but professional on the basketball court. Men's US Size - Sold Out AUD$399.00 |
