Possibly, one of the most popular shoes Adidas has ever made was the Superstar....

Now, 35 years later in 2005, in celebration of Adidas' 35th anniversary since the first Superstar was released, Adidas have produced a number of distinguished models to commemorate this achievement. These have been specially designed n conjunction with Adidas' partners in music (Music series), art (Expressionist series) and fashion (Consortium series) as well the City series.

"The Music Series was born out of mutual respect. From the original MC and the B-Boy pioneers in the Bronx to today's musical icons, the Superstar has been the perennial choice."

Only 4000 pairs of each style from the Music and Expressionist series have been produced.

Only a handful of stores received these limited-edition Superstar models which were distributed in only small quantities of each style and size.

The former lead singer of The Stone Roses, has forged a very successful solo career with his 4th album, Solarized being released in September 2004.

Each pair comes with 4 sets of laces - Checker, Green, Red and comes laced with Brown laces (with a large metal 'IB' lace tag) and all are metal gold-tipped. This model could be one of the most be detailed from the music series, with a etching in on side of the heel counter. The uppers are of a very soft leather with red suede accents on the '3 stripes' and heel counter with a gold foil logo and 'Brown' written in red vertically. The yellow  innersoles have black text of lyrics from the artist.

All shoes come packaged in a special 35th Anniversary white box with their hang tag attached, wrapped in special tissue paper. The underside of each box is neat, showing all the 35th Anniversary models with their production numbers.
