The Nike Air Jordan VII was originally released at the beginning of 1992. Like many other Air Jordan's the Air Jordan VII was a shoe of several firsts. Huarache technology was introduced to provide a custom fit via a Dynamic Fit Inner Bootie of neoprene and lycra. Also new was the wild design on the sole and tongue which for the first time polarized the consumer market into those that hated the shoe and those that adored it. Whatever the reaction then, this shoe remains an excellent performer on the court and is certain to turn heads. This 2006 colourway represents a new look to the Nike Air Jordan VII family, especially for newer collectors, who may have missed out on the Olympic Retro released in 2004 or the early retro releases in late 2002. This colorway follows in line with some of newer inspirations, using black Nubuck or leather and adding either carolina/columbia blue as on the XIV Retro releases and the upcoming Nike Air Jordan V Retro. Within the USA, the shoes were released in limited quantities to urban accounts only and sold quickly, whilst within Australia, only limited numbers were released at just a handful of stores, making these a rather limited shoe, ideal for collectors.
