In 1994, Charles Barkley, 1993 NBA MVP, Charles Barkley had his second signature shoe released, the Air Max2 CB. The following year in 1995, the same Air Max2 technology was incorporated into next shoe for the 'Round Mound of Rebound' was known as the Air Max2 Uptempo, which came in two versions, a high-cut, and the rarer low-cut. Both shoes used a mixture of leather and mesh within the uppers.

The Air Max CB2 features strong ankle support, with elasticized straps for added support to the forefront of the foot, together with an inner bootie to ease the shoe over the foot, along with a rear 180 bubble.

This is quite an evolutionary shoe in the fact that it is the first 'Uptempo' basketball shoe ever produced! The success of this shoe and its future successors have given rise to many, many Uptempo basketball models to the current day.

This specific pair of shoes have never been laced are still tied up, as if they were purchased and untouched from the store a decade ago, mint in their purple and orange Air Max box.
