Some people couldn't believe their eyes....in 2003 a Nike retro-release of the Air Trainer I in its original retro colorway glory, yeah the one that the 'Super Brat' John McEnroe wore! It was the shoe that shoe collectors around the world had seemingly craved for. It was released in a few countries in Asia and to a one boutique chain store in Australia.

In 1987 when the first Air Trainer was released, it was designed by Tinker Hatfield who's aim was to have a shoe that could be used for a wide of activities, an "all-purpose" shoe. The Air Trainer has a full-length air unit with a flexible forefoot combined with soft leather and durabuck uppers.
