One of the most popular Nike Air Jordan shoes of all-time is the Nike Air Jordan V, and in 2006, a number of colorways have been slated for release. Not since the year 2000, has the AJ V been released, and for many new collectors, they will fill in holes in their personal collections. It would be fair to say that all the new colorways due for release will be an immediate hit with collectors across the globe. There are a number of distinguishing features of the Nike Air Jordan V, namely the unique mesh down the side of shoe, closely followed by its reflective tongue. These features together with the distinctive clear sole, its definitive fire patterns topped off by its lace locks, the first Nike Air Jordan to have them, make it a great looking shoe, This original colorway, simply known as 'the Fire Red' has finally been retroed and was by far one of the most eagerly awaited shoes of the 2006 Air Jordan line as this colorway is one that many collectors have craved since its original release in 1990. It differs from the 1999-00 release of a similar shoe, which had a black midsole, with white plastic accents, without the most recognizable feature, that being the '23' on the side of the heel.
