The performance basketball signature shoe made by Puma, the 'Sampson Hi' as worn by Ralph Sampson, (now retired) NBA player of the Houston Rockets and #1 NBA Draft Pick in 1983.

Ralph Sampson was one of the most heralded high school recruits of all time. At 7-foot-4, he towered over his competition, even those he was destined to face in the college when playing for his hometown Virginia University and eventually the professional ranks. Yet he maintained excellent timing, quickness and shooting skills for a big man.

Upon completing his first season with the Rockets, he captured NBA 'Rookie of the Year' honours after averaging 21.0ppg and 11.1rpg along with 2.4bpg. On the innersole, there is a gold sticker to commemorate his success after his first professional season.

Paired with Hakeem Olajuwon to form the 'Twin Towers', were they lost the 1986 NBA finals to Boston Celtics. Unfortunately, Sampson was very injury-prone and was never the same player after his 3rd season and was eventually traded to Golden State in 1987.

Full grain leather upper for superior comfort and durability. Lace-up upper provides a secure and comfortable fit. Lightly padded foot bed provides excellent shock absorption.
