RareAirShoes.com Australian Exclusive An awesome and highly distinctive colorway of the Air Zoom Vapor Speed which was unreleased in Australia for the 2005 Australian Open, the (former*) signature shoe of Australian tennis star, Lleyton Hewitt (he wore this specific colorway during one game only), Roger Federer and specifically this colorway for young Spanish tennis star Rafal Nadel. In what was a memorable Australian Tennis Open in 2005, Lleyton Hewitt steamrolled his way to the finals where he met Marat Safin. In the grand slam final, Safin emphatically ended Hewitt's bid to become the first Australian Open champion since Mark Edmondson won the 1976 Australian Open at Kooyong. The Air Zoom Vapor Speed has super lightweight micro fiber uppers that give incredible stability and moisture resistance, whilst the mesh tongue provides additional breath-ability and comfort. The midsole is suitable for the casual or more serious player as it contains full-length Pylon with a Caged Zoom Air unit in the heel and forefoot encapsulated Zoom Air unit for ultimate in low-profile responsive cushioning. We predict that these shoes will be one of the most highly-sought shoes in the not too distant future as they are performing well on court and are achieving a cult-status, much like the Nike Air Tech Challenge line from the early 90's. *Hewitt has since joined Yonex since August 2005 Men's US Size - Sold Out 8 March 2006 Please note - Shoe box does not have lid |
